How Food Became the Matrix: Why Industrial Food Keeps You Tired and Without a Clear Mind

25-06-2026

We eat every day, but we rarely ask why this is the food around us. This article is not about another diet. It is about how sugar, ultra-processed foods, and hidden chemicals in food affect your energy, sleep, microbiome, pineal gland – and your ability to think clearly, feel deeply, and make decisions. And most importantly: how to begin stepping out of the “food Matrix."

How Food Became the Matrix: Why Industrial Food Keeps You Tired and Without a Clear Mind

The whole world is debating what we eat. We count calories, argue about carbohydrates versus fats, and discuss whether keto or the Mediterranean diet is better. But almost nobody stops and asks the much more important question:

Why is this the food around us? Why are the shelves full of exactly these products? And who benefits from the fact that we feel tired, irritated, and unable to think clearly after eating them?

This is not an article about another diet. This is a look at how food – industrial, artificial, omnipresent food – affects not only your body, but also your ability to think clearly, feel deeply, and make decisions. And most importantly: how to step out of it.

If you are one of the people who sense that “something is off," but have not yet seen it all in one place – this is for you.

Why people talk about “what we eat" but not “why this exact food"

The food industry is not a charity. It is a business built on three pillars:

  • Cheap ingredients – sugar, corn syrup, hardened fats, wheat flour. They cost a fraction of what quality food costs.
  • Long shelf life – the more preservatives and stabilizers, the longer the product lasts on the shelf. The margin grows.
  • Addictive taste – the combination of sugar, salt, and fat is designed to activate the same brain areas as addictive substances. This is not an accident – it is food engineering.

The result is food that tastes great, costs little, and lasts for months. But your body gets almost nothing from it that it needs to function at full capacity.

And now the key point nobody talks about:

A tired person does not think. They do not look for answers. They do not look for truth. They look for relief – another sweet, another coffee, another scroll. And that is exactly what the system wants.

Think about it
If you control what people eat, you also control how much energy they have to think about their lives. A tired person does not look for truth. They look for relief.

Look at it from a distance: marketing sells you “light" versions, “fitness" bars, “sugar-free" drinks. It looks healthy. The packaging is green, there is a picture of nature, maybe even the word “natural." But turn it over and read the ingredients. You will find:

  • Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame K)
  • Flavor enhancers (monosodium glutamate and its variants)
  • Emulsifiers, stabilizers, colorants
  • Vegetable oils in poor-quality, refined form
  • Flavorings – because without them it would taste like nothing at all

“Healthy" food from the shelf is often no better than the unhealthy kind. It just has better marketing.

The pineal gland: the organ nobody talks about – and maybe that is exactly why

In the middle of your brain lies a small gland the size of a pea. It is called the epiphysis, commonly known as the pineal gland. In antiquity, it was known as the “third eye" – a symbol of inner vision, intuition, and spiritual perception. You will find it in ancient Egypt, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Greek philosophy.

Modern science says the pineal gland produces melatonin – the hormone that regulates your sleep, biorhythms, and regeneration. Without quality melatonin, the body does not regenerate, the brain does not “clean itself," and you wake up tired even after eight hours of sleep.

But the pineal gland does more than regulate sleep. People who explore it more deeply – whether from the perspective of neuroscience or thousands of years of tradition – describe that when the pineal gland functions well, a person perceives more clearly. They distinguish better between truth and manipulation. They have sharper intuition. They feel when “something is not right."

And now the unpleasant part:

The pineal gland is extremely sensitive to what you put into your body.

  • Fluoride – commonly added to toothpaste and, in some countries, to drinking water. There are studies showing that fluoride accumulates in the pineal gland and contributes to its calcification – in other words, “petrification."
  • Heavy metals (aluminum, mercury, lead) – from food, packaging, cosmetics, and polluted environments. They burden the nervous system and the brain.
  • Pesticides and herbicides – residues in common foods that disrupt the hormonal system.
  • Artificial additives in food – colorants, flavorings, preservatives – increase oxidative stress in the body.
  • Blue light from screens – disrupts natural melatonin production, especially in the evening.
What the research says
Research published in neuroscience journals confirms that calcification of the epiphysis (pineal gland) is a common phenomenon that worsens with age. A calcified pineal gland produces less melatonin, which leads to poorer sleep, impaired regeneration, and reduced cognitive clarity. Some studies suggest a connection between the degree of calcification and fluoride exposure.

Simply put: when the pineal gland is clouded, you are dulled. You sleep worse, make worse decisions, and distinguish truth from manipulation less effectively. And exactly in this state it is easiest to “steer" you – through advertising, fear, and convenience.

This is not a conspiracy theory. It is simple biology: an organ that needs a clean environment to function is bombarded every day with substances that destroy it. And nobody tells you about it, because it benefits no one.

Sugar: the cheapest consciousness switch

Sugar is everywhere. In ketchup, bread, yogurt, “healthy" muesli bars, children’s snacks, sauces, and drinks. The average person consumes around 40 kg of sugar per year. That is more than a kilo a week.

And now look at what sugar does to your brain and body:

1. The dopamine loop
Sugar activates the same brain pathways as addictive substances. You get a quick “hit" – a feeling of energy and good mood. But an hour later the crash comes. And you reach for more sugar. It is a loop that is hard to escape – because it is designed to work.

2. Glycemic swings
Fast sugar → sharp rise in blood sugar → sharp drop. The result? Fatigue, brain fog, irritability, inability to concentrate. Repeat this three times a day, every day, for years – and you get a person who is chronically tired and does not even know why.

3. Hormones in chaos
Sugar affects insulin, cortisol (the stress hormone), and yes – melatonin too. High sugar levels in the evening disrupt melatonin production, which means worse sleep, worse regeneration, and fatigue again the next morning. A vicious circle.

Now imagine a person living on sugar. What does their day look like?

Sweet breakfast or nothing in the morning (just coffee with sugar). The first crash late morning – they reach for a biscuit or an energy drink. Lunch – quick food, often with added sugar in the sauce. Another crash in the afternoon – chocolate, sweet yogurt. Dinner is a ready meal, plus a sweetened drink. Before bed, scrolling with blue light in their face.

This person does not have the capacity to think about whether they are living the life they want. They have no energy to ask uncomfortable questions. No strength to change anything. They are busy just surviving the day – from one sugar high to the next.

Sugar is the ideal tool of the system: cheap, everywhere, legal. It gives short relief but takes away long-term clarity. The perfect Matrix citizen – tired, irritated, and addicted to the next dose.

Ultra-processed food: the body in survival mode, the mind with no space to awaken

There is a category of food that has been talked about more and more in recent years: ultra-processed foods (UPF). These are products that have undergone such intense industrial processing that they have almost nothing in common with the original ingredient.

Examples? Packaged snacks, instant soups, hot dogs, industrial baked goods, sweetened cereals, energy drinks, frozen pizzas, processed cheese, and most fast food.

What they have in common:

  • A long list of ingredients, most of which you do not recognize
  • High amounts of sugar, salt, and low-quality fats
  • Added emulsifiers, stabilizers, colorants, flavorings
  • Almost no living enzymes, fiber, or micronutrients

And now the important part – what they do to your body:

Chronic inflammation. Ultra-processed food increases inflammatory markers in the body. Inflammation is not just a “swollen knee" – it is a silent, systemic process that destroys tissues, burdens the immune system, and drains energy.

Liver burden. The liver is the main detoxification organ. When you flood it daily with artificial additives, pesticides, and low-quality fats, it does not have the capacity to do what it should – clean the blood, process hormones, and support metabolism.

Hormonal disruption. Endocrine disruptors (hormone-disrupting substances) are found in plastics, packaging, pesticides – and therefore also in food that was packaged in them or made from them.

What the research says
A large study involving tens of thousands of participants showed that people with the highest intake of ultra-processed foods had a 25–30% higher risk of depressive symptoms compared with those who ate mostly unprocessed foods. Other research shows links with anxiety, sleep disorders, and cognitive decline.

Translated into the language of this article:

When your body is constantly fighting toxins, your mind has no energy to fight the system. The organism is in a permanent “survival" mode – low-level stress, silent inflammation, hormonal chaos. In this state, you have no capacity for deep thinking, for intuition, for “seeing around corners."

And that is exactly the state the system needs you in.

Microbiome and emotions: when mood begins in the gut

This may be the most surprising part of the whole story. And at the same time, the part that ties everything together.

An ecosystem of trillions of bacteria lives in your gut – it is called the microbiome. And this ecosystem is not just about digestion. Your microbiome:

  • Produces approximately 90% of serotonin in your body (yes, the “happiness hormone")
  • Communicates directly with the brain via the vagus nerve – the so-called gut-brain axis
  • Influences your mood, anxiety, motivation, and ability to focus
  • Participates in regulating the immune system (70–80% of immunity resides in the gut)
  • Helps with detoxification and processing the substances you take into your body

And now imagine what happens when you systematically destroy this ecosystem:

  • Sugar feeds pathogenic bacteria and yeasts (especially Candida) at the expense of beneficial ones
  • Artificial sweeteners disrupt the microbiome composition – even the “zero-calorie" ones
  • Emulsifiers in ultra-processed food damage the intestinal lining
  • Antibiotics (in medicine and in conventionally raised meat) kill bacteria indiscriminately
  • Pesticides (especially glyphosate) act like antibiotics – they destroy gut flora

The result? Leaky gut – a condition in which the intestinal barrier is disrupted and substances that do not belong there enter the bloodstream. The body responds with inflammation. And that inflammation reaches the brain as well.

Think about it
Depression, anxiety, aggression, apathy – these are often not just matters of “character" or “weak will." They are symptoms of a damaged microbiome and chronic inflammation that has moved from the belly into the head. When we eat in ways that destroy our own microbiome, it is hard to feel free will. We mostly just react.

In other words: if your gut does not work, your brain cannot work. And if your brain does not work, you cannot think clearly, feel clearly, or make good decisions. You are on autopilot – reactive, tired, emotionally unstable.

And that is exactly the state in which it is easiest to control you. Not with force. Not with orders. Just with food.

What happens when you start eating clean

Here comes the good news. Because everything we have described is reversible. The body has an enormous ability to regenerate – if you give it a chance.

People who moved from ultra-processed diets to clean, real food describe changes that come gradually but noticeably:

The first weeks:

  • Better sleep – deeper, higher quality, waking up genuinely rested
  • Stable energy throughout the day – without crashes and without needing “rescue" sugar
  • Clearer head – less brain fog, better focus

After one to two months:

  • More stable mood – less irritability, less anxiety
  • Better digestion – less bloating, more regularity
  • More sensitive perception – you start to feel what is good for you and what is not (and not only in food)

After three months and beyond:

  • Return of intuition – hard to describe, but people say it feels like “I can suddenly see where I was running on autopilot"
  • Ability to distinguish – what is advertising and what is a real need, what is fear and what is real danger
  • Energy for change – not just surviving the day, but actively creating a life that makes sense

“For three years I lived on ready meals, sweet breakfasts, and machine coffee with milk. I told myself I was simply a tired kind of person. That it was age, stress, and work. Then I tried eating only real food for a month – I cooked from ingredients, drank clean water, and added fermented vegetables. After two weeks, I woke up in the morning and for the first time in a long time I felt that I had energy. Not caffeine energy – real energy. After a month, I started noticing things that had escaped me before. How much advertising influenced me. How automatically I reached for my phone. How little I had thought about what I actually wanted. It was as if clarity had returned to me, and I had not even realized I had lost it."

This is not magic. It is physiology. When you reduce inflammation, restore the microbiome, support the liver, and give the pineal gland a chance to function – the body and mind return to the state they were designed for. To a state of clarity, sensitivity, and strength.

How the system uses food to keep you in a fog

Now let us put it all together. Without sugarcoating, without sauce.

You do not need to believe in any conspiracy. Just look at how things work:

  • Cheap, addictive food is everywhere – in every store, on every corner, in every vending machine.
  • Advertising tells you it is normal, convenient, modern. That you “deserve" it.
  • The result: a tired, emotionally reactive, chronically inflamed person who has no capacity for deep thinking.

And such a person is the perfect citizen of the system:

  • They do not ask uncomfortable questions
  • They look for short reliefs – food, scrolling, shopping, shows
  • They react to fear and advertising because they have no energy for their own judgment
  • They buy what they are told they need
  • They do not see the loop they are in – because they do not have the capacity to
You do not need to lock people up, forbid them to think, or censor their books. Just feed them. Fatigue, dopamine addiction, and advertising take care of the rest.

This is not theory. This is the reality you see around you every day. In stores full of colorful boxes with “food" that is not food. In ads for “healthy" products full of chemicals. In a generation of children who have never tasted real food and think a strawberry tastes like strawberry flavoring.

But – and this is important – once you see it, you cannot unsee it. And that is exactly why you are reading this article. Because you already sense that something does not add up. And you are right.

How to recognize “artificial" food: a practical guide to reading labels

Enough theory. Let us get to what you can do tomorrow – or tonight when you open the fridge.

Rule number one: turn the package around and read the ingredients

Not the front – that is advertising. Read the back, the small print, the ingredient list. Ingredients are listed from the most abundant to the least abundant.

🚩 Red flags in the ingredients – if you see this, put it back

  • The first ingredient is sugar, glucose syrup, fructose or any other “-ose" syrup
  • The list contains more than 5–7 ingredients, most of which you do not recognize
  • Flavorings (= the product itself tastes like nothing, flavor is added artificially)
  • Flavor enhancers (monosodium glutamate – E621 and its variants E620–E625)
  • Artificial colorings (E102, E110, E122, E124, E129 – especially in children’s products)
  • Hardened or partially hardened fats (= trans fats, some of the most harmful substances in food)
  • Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame K) – “sugar-free" does not mean “healthy"
  • The phrase “natural flavor" – it sounds nice, but it has to do with nature only in the sense that the starting material was once natural

Simple rule: The shorter the ingredient list and the more of it you recognize as real food, the better. Ideal food has no label at all – it is an apple, a carrot, beans, a handful of nuts or seeds.

Where to shop if you do not want to be merely “fed"

You do not have to change everything at once. But gradually, you can shift the focus of your shopping elsewhere:

  • Farmers’ markets – direct contact with producers, seasonal food, no unnecessary packaging
  • Local farmers and food boxes – regular supply of vegetables, fruit, legumes, and spices directly from the source
  • Package-free shops – legumes, nuts, seeds, spices without plastic and without added chemicals
  • Your own garden or balcony – even a few herbs in a pot are a beginning
  • Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) – you support local farmers and receive fresh, seasonal food

What to bring back into the kitchen and what to gradually remove

Bring back:

  • Real fats – extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, high-quality rapeseed or flaxseed oil
  • Quality proteins – legumes, seeds, grains, and pseudocereals
  • Fermented foods – homemade fermented vegetables, kefir, kombucha, miso, kimchi. This is direct support for the microbiome.
  • Lots of vegetables – raw and cooked, as varied as possible
  • Herbs and spices – turmeric, ginger, garlic, oregano, rosemary – natural anti-inflammatory substances
  • Sprouts and germinated seeds – concentrated nutrition for minimal cost

Gradually remove:

  • Sweetened drinks (including “light" versions and fruit juices from concentrate)
  • Ready meals and instant foods
  • Sweet breakfasts (cereals, sweet pastries, sweetened yogurts)
  • Industrial snacks (chips, bars, cookies)
  • Refined vegetable oils (sunflower, rapeseed, soy in standard quality)
Important
You do not have to be perfect. The goal is not to live in absolute purity – the goal is to shift the ratio. If 80% of what you eat is real food, your body will know it. And your mind will too.

How to help yourself: support for detox, microbiome, and nervous system

Changing how you eat is the foundation. But after years of living on artificial food, your body may also need targeted support – to get rid of accumulated burden and return to balance faster and more effectively.

That is exactly why there are products that combine the power of natural ingredients with modern methods. No miracles, no empty promises – just targeted support where the body needs it most.

🧹 Support for detoxification and easing the burden on the body

When the body has spent years processing artificial additives, heavy metals, and pesticides, the liver, lymphatic system, and excretory organs need support. This is not about a “trendy detox" – it is about helping the body do what it already knows how to do, while easing the load.

7-day mini-plan: the first step out of the food Matrix

Big changes begin with small steps. Here is a simple plan for the first week – no extreme diets, no starvation. Just a conscious decision to eat differently.

1
Observer Day
Do not change anything. Just write down everything you eat and drink throughout the day. Everything – including “small things" like coffee with sugar, a biscuit for a snack, sweetened tea. In the evening, read the list. No judgment – just look at reality.
2
Day without liquid sugar
Cut out all sweetened drinks – juices, sodas, sweet teas, energy drinks. Replace them with plain water, unsweetened tea, or water with a slice of lemon and ginger. Just this one step.
3
Real breakfast day
Replace a sweet breakfast with something real: bread with avocado, oatmeal with nuts and cinnamon (without added sugar), or cottage cheese with seeds and vegetables. Notice how you feel at 10 a.m. – did the crash come, or not?
4
Big clean-out day
Open the fridge and pantry. Pick the 3 worst products (based on what you learned about reading labels) and remove them. You do not have to throw them away – just do not buy them again. Replace them with one quality ingredient.
5
Fermentation day
Add at least one fermented food to your meals: sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi, kombucha, or miso soup. Your microbiome will thank you. If you want to support the process from within, this is the ideal day to start with the Solvyl product line.
6
Hydration day
Focus on water. Drink at least 2 liters of plain water (not coffee, not tea – plain water). If possible, use filtered water. Notice how you feel in the evening – energy, mental clarity, sleep quality.
7
Mindful shopping day
Go to a farmers’ market or a package-free shop. Buy ingredients for 2–3 simple recipes from fresh ingredients. Cook a meal from scratch. No ready meal, no box. Just you, the ingredients, and a little time. And notice how differently the food tastes – and how you feel after it.
Tip
If you want to support this week from the inside too, this is the ideal opportunity to start with Haevyl Impulse for a feeling of vitality, Lavyl Lymph for lymph support, or Orylium Bleu for a feeling of mental clarity. The goal is not to “add another product" – it is to give the body tools that help it with what it is already beginning to do on its own.

You do not have to be a prisoner. You just have to decide.

Let us go back to the beginning. To the question most people do not ask:

Why does the system love your tiredness?

Because a tired person is a convenient person. They do not ask questions, they do not see around corners, they do not look for truth. They look for relief. And the system is happy to sell it to them – in the form of another sweet, another ready meal, another piece of “comfort food."

But you have read this far. And that means you are no longer that person. You already see how it works. And once you see it, you cannot unsee it.

You do not have to change everything at once. You do not have to be perfect. Just start:

  • Read the ingredients of what you buy
  • Replace one artificial thing with one real thing
  • Give your body a chance to cleanse and renew itself
  • Support what needs support – the liver, lymph, microbiome, nervous system
  • And most importantly: start consciously choosing what you let in – through food, water, and information

It is enough to feed you so you do not see. But it is equally enough to start eating real food, drinking real water, breathing, and occasionally being in silence – and the fog begins to lift.

This is an invitation. Not to another diet. To awakening.

Take care of yourself consciously. Not because advertising told you to – but because a clear mind and a healthy body are your greatest freedom. And nobody can take that away from you if you decide to protect it.
